How to Explore Everglades National Park?

Different types of Everglades National Park tours are available for exploring this massive area. Exploring the park by walking, bicycling, and kayaking are the most unobtrusive ways and you can really get up close to the wildlife and explore the area more intimately. Tram Tours of Shark Valley

This tour is for exploring the northern parts of the park, and visitors ride on an open-air tram-like vehicle. The guided tour by experienced naturalists lasts about two hours, who provide interesting information about the wildlife and the "River of Grass" terrain. Visitors also have the opportunity of alighting at the observation tower of Shark Valley, and seeing a panoramic unobstructed view of the park extending 20 miles in any direction. The tour provides an opportunity at seeing White Ibis, Limpkin, Green Heron, Green Treefrog, and many other rare species.

The 15-Mile Loop on Bicycle

The 15-mile loop is a paved road, which is ideal for bicycling, without any rough terrain or hills. Typically it takes around three hours to make the loop, but it depends on your pace and the stops you make on the way to explore various things. Visitors can view wildlife as close as 10 feet. However, you are not allowed to feed or try interacting with the wildlife in any way. Some of the wild life will make it quite apparent to you on why that is wonderful advice. Boat Tours of Everglades National Park There are two main boat tours, one explores the Gulf Coast area, and the other explores Whitewater Bay area, popularly called the Flamingo area.

Anhinga Trail

This is a walking tour of about one mile through an elevated trail, and is the best way to view abundant wildlife up close. You can get a close look at alligators, many different types of fishes, turtles, and other animals and birds. Apart from the wildlife, the trail offers a very peaceful walk in the natural surroundings.
